The Embrace explores the power and intimacy of the hug. Two bodies remain in constant contact — skin against skin, intertwined limbs, sliding muscles in an endless movement of connectedness. In a time when digital communication and individualism are on the rise, this work focuses on the simplicity and value of physical closeness.

The Embrace is choreographed by Joost Vrouenraets and Marika Meoli.

It will be performed during the Nederlandse Dansdagen in the program Danskerk: Dans Right Now! alongside work by Claudia Karapanou & Tatiana Koleva, Marne van Opstal, Bo Jacobs & Zoë Greten.
